Exhaled (Print, 20" x 24")

Exhaled is a depiction of a woman who was involved in an abusive relationship for a long time.  She has been reading a book about troubled relationships.  Somewhere in the book she saw her relationship and realized that the path out of the abuse began with her. She made the decision to take control of her life and exhaled.  The symbolism throughout the painting speaks to new beginnings. The dark clouds and rain on the left represents the stormy relationship moving out of her life. The rainbow represents the end of the storm.  The rising sun represents the brighter days ahead. The potato in the jar represents the coming of new life and growth.  Did you know that Evian water spelled backwards if Naive?  She put a cap on being naive.  The cut-up picture symbolizes the end of the relationship. The picture of the smiling angel on her wall indicates that God is pleased with her decision and pleased with her.
