Seek Ye First (Print, 20" x 24")

Seek Ye First is a depiction of President Barack Obama going before the Lord, Jesus Christ seeking wisdom and guidance as he enters the highest and one of the most important positions in America.  Ephesians 6:13, NIV, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand".  Obama's red tie signifies the blood that was shed by Jesus.  In John 13:1-5, Jesus washed the disciples' feet, teaching them through action in this act of humility and service.  I decided to depict Obama washing Jesus' feet as a spiritual cleansing of respect, honor and humbleness.  The flag in the background and the presidential seal are in black and white to signify that Obama is placing things in their proper perspective; God first, country, title and all other things follow.  Matthew 6:33, NIV, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
